The finalists for the 2023 European Car of the Year Award have been announced. A 60-member jury representing various European countries chose from 27 applicants.
The finalists for the year 2023 have something in common: they all have electrification involved or are 100% electric. The final round will take place in early January 2023. That round will decide the winner of the 2023 edition, which will be announced at a ceremony at the 100th Brussels Motor Show on January 13 next year.

The winner will follow the KIA EV6 that was proclaimed in the 2022 edition, being the first for the Korean manufacturer. At that time, it obtained 279 points and 12 maximum individual votes, beating Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric in a close election.
The Car of the Year is an international award and the jury is made up of journalists specialized in the area from all over Europe. The objective is to consecrate the unique and decisive winner.
In 2022, the jury consisted of 61 members representing 23 European countries, the representation is proportional to the size of the automotive market in the nations and their importance in manufacturing. France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Spain each have six members.
