This is the New Volkswagen Tavendor 2023.
Volkswagen introduced a new model in China, the Volkswagen Tavendor, further expanding its SUB lineup in the Asian region. The Tavendor, produced locally by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture, is a mid- to large-size SUB offering based on the MQB Evo architecture, with modern styling and plenty of technology inside the cabin.
The new model combines design elements from Volkswagen’s I C E powered and electric SUBs. The front is characterized by the body-coloured horizontal stripes on the grille, reminiscent of the LED element above the main headlamps which expands towards the profile, through the Peugeot 3008-inspired bonnet closure.
The profile has a clean design with a window line similar to the Audi Q6. The rear end is reminiscent of the ID models, although the full-width taillight Led graphics are unique to the Tavendor. Note that the model pictured is the R-Lain trim, which features a sportier design to the bumpers and large diameter alloy wheels.
Based on an enlarged version of the tried and tested MQB Evo architecture, the FAW-Volkswagen Tavendor measures 4.93 meters long, 2.01 meters wide and 1.75 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.98 meters. Unsurprisingly, the wheelbase is identical to the North American Teramont or Atlas, but slightly longer. Still, the Tavendor is 2.3 inches longer than the more premium MLB Evo-based Volkswagen Touareg.
