The next 2023 Mercedes E-Class is close and here’s what we know about it.
This would be the New 2023 Mercedes Benz E-Class. Although the market is full of car shortages worldwide, what if there has not been is a shortage of spy photos of Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The automaker is preparing a complete redesign of the model, but we haven’t seen much of it. The camouflage and coating have hidden its new design, although we don’t expect the vehicle to receive a major styling change.
Instead, the E-Class will likely receive an evolutionary design update, and new unofficial renderings from Kolesa.ru show a preview of what the model will look like when it debuts. Renderings show a lean-looking sedan with a familiar shape. Up front, the E-Class sports a smaller grille flanked by slimmer headlamps. It looks like a shrunken S-Class, which isn’t a bad thing. The rendering of the rear highlights even more subtle changes.
The camo has kept the rear end well hidden, but the rendering shows slim taillights set atop a rear bumper that doesn’t look all that different from the current car. The E-Class in the rendering looks slimmer and sleeker than the model it replaces. Powertrain details are under wraps, but we expect Mercedes to electrify many of them, with mild-hybrid gasoline and diesel engines being the workhorses.
Electrification is likely to include a plug-in hybrid model as well. The downsizing will also come to AMG variants, with the V8 likely to disappear as the company embraces high-powered hybrid powertrains. The automaker hasn’t specified when it will reveal the new E-Class. Mercedes gave the E-Class a makeover last year, but the model is pretty old for the lineup. Mercedes launched the current generation E-Class in 2016. We expect to see the debut of the new model before the end of the year. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t happen until early 2023. And we’ll probably have to wait for AMG variants.
